The Nectar Festival aims to inspire and empower women. It seeks to promote equality, creativity, wisdom and to celebrate the rich contribution women have made to our community. The event celebrates women from all walks of life and all cultural backgrounds allowing them to come together to tell their stories, display their creativity and share their experiences.

The Nectar Festival’s ability to bring women together in a safe and nurturing environment to exchange ideas, share progress, promote issues and develop strong social networks is an important part of strengthening the social fabric of our community. This sharing and exchange of experiences and ideas in turn acts as a catalyst to empower women in our community to formulate their own goals and dreams and should be encouraged.

The Nectar Festival provides an important time to reflect on the incredible efforts and amazing contribution women from all around the world have made to our society. I believe the Nectar Festival provides a much needed event for women in our community and should be supported to ensure it becomes a permanent fixture in our community calendar.

Miranda Green & the Lionheart Project

Miranda Green Millinery will incorporate innovation and excellence in design whilst maintaining a commitment to fair business exchanges, social responsibility and personal development. To fulfill MGmillinery's philosophy, our objectives are to:

  • commit to being non exploitive in our dealings with others and to approach each transaction as a mutually beneficially business exchange.
  • design original, well-made and delightful hats which will help to enhance the individual flair of their wearers and to produce both beautiful and durable items that are purchased as investments for the long term.
  • create progressive and flexible working conditions which honour each individual's contribution to the whole and thus demonstrate the need for and value of diversity.
  • promote within the business community, ethical and just actions that incorporate a sense of social responsibility encompassing the local and wider population.
  • measure success equally in terms of financial and material prosperity, social responsibility and personal growth. To be a company which has a deep respect for the individual and the communities of which it is a part.
  • encourage and embrace the virtues of harmonious relationships as a prerequisite to attaining a successful and prosperous business.
  • minimise environmental impact in all facets of the business: to invest in carbon labelling, be energy efficient, choose natural fibres and recycle where possible.
